No longer are multiple trips for open-hole ranging runs required. Consisting of a WSAB sub directly behind the drill bit transmitting wirelessly to a receiver tool inside non-mag behind the MWD on wireline, the amount of time required for a ranging run to detect the target well can be reduced by up to 80% over traditional open-hole ranging techniques.
