Case History: Plug and Abandon

 Southern California

A California gas utility inadvertently sidetracked through the corroded casing of a gas storage well during a routine workover and casing patch operation. Subsequent attempts to re-enter the casing only deepened the sidetrack and resulted in a drill collar fish left in the hole.

Wellspot™ was utilized to direct the directional drilling and milling of a window back into the 7-inch casing at 4,380 feet. The well was perforated above the reservoir at 8,100 feet, squeezed and abandoned.
