Intersecting a Horizontal Well With a Vertical Well
Use Vector Magnetics' Rotating Magnet Ranging tools to intersect a horizontal well with a vertical well. The RMRS tool provides accurate distance and direction data to a target at greater than 140 foot range.
The RMRS sensor can be pumped down a horizontal well bore or used on commercially available well tractors. A rotating magnet sub is used directly behind the bit in the vertical well. An operator using a laptop is able to give the directional driller distance and direction data from the bit to the desired intersection point.
